Manual Adjustments

A doctor’s hands can provide a wealth of information. And so, by using their hands, our Ivanhoe chiropractors will apply a specific and precise force to restore immobility and function in a fixed or locked joint. Our techniques will help gradually restore and regain movement and motion to affect the joint and surrounding structures, muscles and ligaments. Manual adjustments can be used to treat neck pain, back pain, and other causes of immobility.

ABC Manual Technique

People are often reminded to maintain a good posture, but do they know the consequences of not complying? The ABC technique is a surgery-free treatment that focuses on realigning the spine. It aims to correct poor posture and alleviate the pain and immobility associated with its symptoms.

Hyperice Muscle Therapy

With recovery becoming an integral part of the body’s healing process, technology has found a way to be implemented to facilitate all aspects of healing. The Hypervolt is a hand-held massage tool that helps relieve pain, stiffness, and soreness, as well as promote an increased range of motion and blood flow, enhancing the physical function of the body.

Pelvic Blocking Technique

Using padded blocks on the pelvis, this technique can be used to balance the lower back and hips using a slow, gentle motion. This chiropractic treatment can address misalignments in the hip/pelvis and facilitate movement and pain alleviation. Pelvic blocking can be used to treat hip/pelvic problems, lower back pain, shoulder problems, headaches, and overall tension.

Drop Piece Technique

A drop piece table is a  special table with sectioned, resistance setting benches, which our chiro Ivanhoe use to mobilize a restricted joint in a controlled manner. The mechanism is raised slightly, so that when we apply force or pressure, the table drops, which can lead you to feel a “popping” sensation. This technique is used for patients with tension in their mid-back, pelvis or lower back and for elderly people whose joints cannot be adjusted otherwise.
